Hey, everyone.
I’m sure this won’t catch many people by surprise at this point, but we still want to make it official, so – it’s with a heavy heart that I confirm that My Little Investigations is, indeed, canceled. There were a number of factors leading up to this, but the biggest was team turnover in positions we were unable to completely fill, causing development in other areas to slow to a standstill. We tried multiple times to get it going again, but ultimately had to conclude that it just wasn’t happening. I’m really sorry to everyone who was looking forward to the second case and beyond – trust me, we were too.
In case anyone would like to do anything with what has been made to date, we’ve bundled up all the assets for case 2 into a single zip file, which you can find here. If anyone wants to pick up where we left off or do something else with the assets, you’re welcome to.
Sorry that it had to end this way. We really tried to get case 2 across the finish line, but it was not to be. 🙁
How sad. I regulary checked up on here, I can understand that it happened as to many changes but I still holded on 🙂

I am sad that this happened to you all, but I truly appreciate the work you did. I loved case #1 and was always looking forward to case #2 I hope this doesn’t mean you’ll retire the website. I checked almost every week to see if there was an update but at least now I know. I wish you all luck in your future endeavors (I think I spelled that right). Goodluck everypony

I’ve just finished the first case and I’ve loved it! It was joy to play it. It’s sad that there will be no continuation. Still, thank you for creating this game. This is something you can most certainly be proud of. 🙂
Really sorry to hear that Gabu. I simply hope that you and your team will convert all the passion you had for this project into experience you can use in your own fields of interests from this point forward to achieve any new ambitious professional and even individual projects. I myself took a step forward and have started doing concept art for a game being made by a small team, so I can relate.

We all knew this day was going to come, but it’s still a shame to hear the words spoken officially.
I still recall the feeling of pure joy I had when I first played through Case I all those years ago (how many has it been now? five? unreal…). You guys really made something special, and regardless of how things have gone since then, you should all be proud of what you were able to accomplish. You made something that brought joy to a lot of people, and you did it for nothing in return. It was a labor of love, pure and simple. Pinkie would be proud.
Just because it’s a little unfinished doesn’t mean it’s not a work of art. MLI is a treasure, and I am very thankful that you all took the time to make it for us. It still is one of the shining stars of this fandom, even after all this time.

Here’s hoping Ambient, Fallout Equestria, and Starved for light could keep up progressing despite G4 almost finished…

Case Creator? Please?!
Though I can’t say I’m very surprised, it’s still a real bummer to hear.
Even so, can’t thank you guys enough for all the hard work you did.
And maybe Case 2 will find a revival in someone else’s hands – take those assets and make it into a non-interactive movie or something.
I shouldn’t get my hopes up for that to happen, but it’d still be really awesome.
The project is officially cancelled, but that doesn’t mean you can’t publish the case creator. So, tell us in the new post whether it will be released at least, or you do not even care about it anymore.

I know this game was published long ago but I found it recently and is amazing. You did a great job in history, music and everything, I was very happy to see chapter 2, but then I found this post… I do not know what could have caused you to stop working on the project, whatever it was, Im really sorry about it, anyway I’m grateful to you for creating such an incredible game 😉
It was really unexpected post for me. All this time I believed that no matter how much time I need to wait you will finish it one day. It’s hard to accept. Even if you share your project another team will make it different with very high chance. Quality of graphics will stay the same, but stories… after first case I know that only you can do it perfect. Thank you, equestrian dreamers. You made a masterpiece. I still want to believe that you will return to this project in future. Good luck and thank to all of you.
Its a sad thing for case 2 and the project itself is cancelled but I am curious if the assets used in case 1 could also be given a download link?
