((Dark says he's waiting for David to post, but in the meantime I'll let the investigators move forward a bit...))

"*ahem* Excuse me sir, but you are aware that a crime has taken place?  Correct?" Silver said, opening the door to the office.

The blue unicorn may very well have been oblivious to the crime.  He certainly didn't stir when Silver entered.

"Zzzzzzzzzz....."

Paladin had added some more information to his testimony, but, Lane felt like he needed more evidence.

"I'm sorry, but, can you please keep this testimony in your mind? I feel like I need to gather some more information first. By that I mean evidence of course" informed Lane.

The white unicorn nodded.  "Can do.  Lemme know what you find."

With that, he left Paladin to his thoughts, and noticed two police ponies in one of the corners of the warehouse gawking at something. Lane approached this area and the police ponies. He spoke aloud, announcing his presence.

"Um... what exactly has your interest so piqued? Mind if I take a look at it as well?" asked Lane.

As Lane wound his way through the maze of boxes and pallets to the northwest corner, he came across the two investigating officers.  At this point, one had the black feather in an evidence bag, as well as the binder that had been on the floor.

They noted Lane's detective badge, and saluted.  "Yes, sir!  We've got this black feather that was found up on the crates by that silver pegasus, and this binder that was laying here.  We were about to take them to forensics, in the lobby, but you may examine them if you like."

Evidence found: Unlabeled Binder
A case file binder found in the shipping bay.  It is unlabeled.

((As a side note, in AA fashion, you may examine evidence further if you so wish.  I wholeheartedly recommend it. :winkflut: ))

Lane simply nodded as a response.

"I think I'll do just that" remarked Lane. He then decided to examine the unlabeled binder further to see if there was anything else about it that could him either what it was, what it contained, or any new information about the crime that occurred.

This is what I said Ace:

Shady frowned as he heard what Sweet Roll and Paper Clip had to say about Iggy. 'Interesting, very interesting indeed... Looks like we are now starting to gather some more pieces of the puzzle of what happened here tonight, but there still is a little more to be done before we're done!'

He then turned towards Ace and spoke up calmly: "Mister Ace, do you see how all the tables are laid out the same way, except for one? I think that you might want to take a closer look at that table, since that could be important. I've got a few more questions for our witnesses here..."

Once he was sure that Ace understood what he'd been told, Shady returned his attention to Paper Clip and Sweet Roll and spoke in a polite tone of voice: "Listen, you wouldn't be too pressured to tell me a little bit more about Cotton Ball, would you? And then, whenever you're ready, I'd like to know what you saw happen tonight, until the police arrived..."

Hope that helps you and please remember to read all of the posts from the point when you last made one, that ok?

((...I don't want this case dying, guys.  Please?))

"I think I'll do just that" remarked Lane. He then decided to examine the unlabeled binder further to see if there was anything else about it that could him either what it was, what it contained, or any new information about the crime that occurred.

An inspection of the cover showed that it was a relatively new binder, (again, unlabeled) and there were two sets of teeth marks that stood out pretty clearly.

Opening the binder to the inside showed that it was in fact a case record.  It looked and smelled recently printed.  The case itself didn't seem particularly relevant, just an account of an arson case that had happened in Canterlot many years ago, where a couple had died in the fire.

Probably the most interesting thing was on the first page - the case's file number was J-256.

Evidence update: Unlabeled Binder has become Unlabeled J-File
A case file, J-256, about an old arson case from over 20 years ago.  Found in the shipping bay, it seems new.  Has two sets of teeth marks on it.

((I'm still active. Igeku said he would be gone for a week. I don't know David or DarkStallion's status however))

Lane actually became tense. He was even sweating a little. He quickly took out his notepad and flipped through it as fast as he could to look for the part that he needed to find. The part where he wrote down the information about the evidence. Then... he saw it...

Lane's calm demeanor was quickly diminishing. He was becoming angry again...

"No way... could it be... maybe... possibly...?" thought Lane, though in all honestly, he wasn't one hundred percent sure.

Lane then pretty much sprinted over to the area in the warehouse that this "conversation" that Paladin overheard took place at. The place that Paladin pointed him towards. He didn't even care if everypony gave him weird looks at this point.

Even though Lane was pretty sure he wouldn't find anything... he just had to make sure... things were... coming together... that's what it seemed like anyway...

((Still here too, was not wanting to leave the cafeteria until Ace had actually responded to some of my older comments, but will be making a move now!))

Shady glanced over towards where Ace seemed to be lost in his own world, before speaking in a slightly annoyed tone of voice, since he had made a suggestion on a potentially important lead to check out; but seemed to have been totally ignored by the pony in question. "Listen Ace, I'm going to be heading over Lane and Sliver, so as to investigate the shipping bay for any potential leads they may have uncovered. I'll be sending one of them back to both help you check the place out and go into a more detailed cross-examination of Miss Paper Clip, so be sure to check out the table I mentioned earlier on before they show up, the one that seems to be laid out differently... You wouldn't want to miss a clue now, would you?"

Turning back towards Paper Clip, Shady spoke in a polite tone: "Thank you for all your help in this matter Miss Clip, you've been very helpful so far. However, I'm going to be heading over towards the shipping bay, just to check on how my fellow investigators are doing; but one of them will be along soon to pick up the questioning where I left off, so I'd be grateful if you give them the same level of co-operation as you did for me! Will that be ok?" (Shady will wait for Paper Clip's reply before doing the next part of my action...)

Heading over to where Sweet Roll was brewing up the coffee, Shady now decided to do one last thing here, before leaving: "Hi there Miss Roll, could I ask you for a flask of your coffee please, if that's ok? If you want me to, I could also bring along your husband's evening coffee to him for you, since I think that Miss Clip could do with having at least one friendly face sticking around here!"

Eventually, Lane ended up right where he started. He took a moment to gather his breath, as well as calm down.

Then, he spoke up to the police ponies again, trying to get their attention.

"Did you happen to find anything else in this area? Even it if was small... it could be important... was there anything else that seemed suspicious or strange about this certain area to you two...?" asked Lane

((Messaged David, he's apparently busy and not ready for posting, so we'll just take it slow for the second.))

Paper simply nodded, and returned to her moody staring contest with her reflection in the table.

Sweet looked over her shoulder.  "Thank you for the offer, deary, but it'll take some time before the coffee's ready.  Can't rush this sort of thing.  Besides, if it's off, it won't wake up Cotton, and he won't be of any use to anypony."

The two officers shook their heads.  "Sorry, sir, but the binder and this feather are the only things we've found here.  There wasn't even a luminol reaction, so we know there wasn't any kind of fight here."

((Did Lane take the binder and/or feather with him, or did he leave 'em with the officers?))

((They were left with the officers))

Lane was 'damaged'

"Great... what do I do now...?" thought Lane

Lane honestly had no idea what to do next. He just sort of stood there, contemplating what to do next.

((Yeah... I'm at a loss. Basically I'm lost. Has all of the evidence been gathered in the shipping bay? Because I have no idea whatsoever about what to do or where to look next.  :'( ))

(( Heh... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Leqh0qOeo2Y You have no idea how badly I want to play this... I bought it... but... I can't play it until my hectic quarter is over. SO LOOKING FORWARD TO IT. *relaxes to calming TWEWY KH version of theme* :awesome:
