"Actually... he had a... diamond grit jigsaw... hidden in the lining... of his vest."

"Idiot. We take your side and then you go and sandbag us."

While the others started to look for Deuce, Common started to think on where Deuce would go.

'With Manehattan being his hometown, and him being an illegal gambler, he could be anywhere. He couldn't have gotten too far since we heard him yelling a little while back.'

((Really?  So, what, is there going to be a part two, or a case 2 then?  Because this feels like it's far from over.

Also, I was half expecting that dancing mare to end up being a witness to something at some point.))

"He's not crazy," L.G. said indignantly as she trotted to the police vehicle. Knowing that she was probably not Deuces' favorite pony in the world right now, she kept some distance behind Common as he peered inside.

Razorback took the ponies away from the door and started to open it. Ducking his head inside, he looks around a bit before coming out fuming and holding a pair of hoof-cuffs that have been sawed through.

"WHERE? HOW? WHEN?"

Gear groaned and facehoofed.

"Oh no... how could I forget..."

Paladin grimaced.  "Maybe the kit was a fake, but the file obviously wasn't..."

He quickly headed around to the other side of the wagon, looking around to see if there was any chance that Deuces was still in sight.

L.G. sighed. "Idiot," she muttered. "We take your side and then you go and sandbag us." She walked over to the carriage to help Paladin look for Deuces.

"When we find him, I'm going to shove that 'fake lock-picking kit' down his throat."

If he didn't see Deuces immediately, he'd check the far door of the carriage and the gravel underneath, hoping to find Deuces' tracks or something.

She walked over to the carriage to help Paladin look for Deuces.

The two of them wouldn't find much of a trail in the gravel... but would find a small trail of blood leading to the club's front door. Rice Bowl suddenly dived from the club's double doors and skidded along the ground, covering his ears.

While he was thinking, Common looked down and spotted something odd. He leaned down and inspected it.

'That's a... blood trail. By the looks of it, it's pretty fresh. Maybe...'

Common turned his head to see Rice Bowl run out of the club. He immediatly knew the reason why.

"You fix the DJ booth?"

"Well..." Drip Drop began, noticing Deuces escaped. "Anypony up for a game of hide n' seek?" Drip asked, raising a brow to the others.

"THAT JUNK'S GONNA BE IN MY EARS FOR DAYS!"

Drip Drop turned around quick enough to still have control in her balance to see Rice. 'Must be his dislike for new music,' Drip Drop then realized that the DJ booth thing was broken, no?

Looking up, the guitarist saw the others staring at him. From around the corner came Bottom Line, Morningstar, Cygnet, and Forget-me-not.

"That thing was weird," he said as he picked himself up. "I did everything short of percussive maintenance, then Deuce comes in, tells me he's bringing everypony inside, and fixes it with the one thing I didn't do."

"Well..." Drip Drop began, noticing Deuces escaped. "Anypony up for a game of hide n' seek?"

"L.G., you and Drip check out what's on that tape.  Broken, you go scope out the back door.  If Deuces went inside, he's either gonna hide there... or go for the keys in his dad's office and sneak out the back.  I'm gonna go look for him.  Captain... I can't tell you what to do, but maybe I can respectfully suggest you and your men helping with the search.  Posting at least two ponies by all the doors would probably be a good idea."

With that, Paladin went, with only a little hesitation, back into the club.

Drip Drop was a bit hesitated to act, but she got the tape back in her hooves. She turned over to Rice and mouthed the words 'sorry' before breaking a promise. "Alrighty then, L.G., wanna lead the way?" Drip Drop asked with a sly smile, it was meant for moral support for Drip Drop not to be the leader. That took more work if she were the leader.

"Why would he be waiting for us?" Gear thought aloud, deciding to follow Common.
