Oh man, are we making a micronation? Sweet.
My thoughts are that in the light of libertarianism, it is very easy to confuse a government trying to be paternalist and a government just trying to make general policy. Regardless of my beliefs, I like this idea, and look forward to some interesting discussion.
I will be an Independent member however.
I would like to apply for two positions. The first is for Secretary of the Treasury, as I think it'd be interesting for me to finally try to encourage myself to understand more macroeconomics, and to have an opportunity to think critically about policy as well. I've enough basic skill I think to make reasoned and rational decisions, and hope to contribute to the state's well being.
The second position I'm applying for is Attorney General, because I also have a great interest in justice (this is the My Little Investigations forum after all) and feel that I could reasonably argue for any matters related to the state. I also have a great interest in how law affects behavior, and would be glad to advise on such issues.
Related to the second position, we should start making laws or something. Senate elections anyone? At the very least, a constitution is appropriate in order for the position of Attorney General to be relevant. One last thing I'd like to point out is that perhaps we do not need some of those cabinet positions up here and that we could converge certain offices together. I personally feel that the responsibilities of Secretary of Commerce and Secretary of the Treasury could be done both by SunSworn, but eh.
At any rate, that's what I'm gunning for.
