"Where are you getting at, investigator?" Shinelly asked with annoyance. He was easily suspicious from Nimbus's statements.

'Wow... I struck a nerve I wasn't even aiming for.'

Nimbus cleared his throat, his face showing a serious expression.  "Honestly I meant nothing by it, I apologize if I struck a chord.  I was just giving my response on the attention issue.  Now then, back to the case.  When did you find out about the missing crystal ball?"

"Search the pockets for anything." Gear pulled the rug on the floor up and checked underneath, just in case.

Underneath the rug was a formal invitation to Blue Snow.

Dear Ms. Blue Snow

I have heard about your reputation and
would love to have my fortune told.
The more accurate one, to be exact.
Since I am currently residing in
Taffy's and Cocoa's inn such as yourself,
I figured that you could tell the fortune to me.

Sincerely, Glamorous

P.S Sorry for not asking you in pony, but
I'm a bit busy with my brother's business.

Gear, satisfied with having gotten more major evidence, quickly checked under the bedsheets and pillow. 'Best to leave no stone unturned.'

"Right around when Ms. Snow woke up from being attacked. I'm not surprised, she should had gotten a much better case to hide the ball of her's." Shinelly replied with a scoff.

Gear, satisfied with having gotten more major evidence, quickly checked under the bedsheets and pillow. 'Best to leave no stone unturned.'

There was a bed, nothing suspicious here. Beside the dusty broom leaning on the bed.

Gear ignored the broom. "Okay, I think that's all the evidence in here. That was fast." Gear promptly left, satisfied with what he had gathered.

Raven examines the broom. 'It could be important.'

"Yes, but what are we going to do, take it with us? A letter or monocle shards or blackmail can be hidden, a broom can't. We have to leave it, evidence or not."

(Mind reader?! :uhoh:)

"Uh, okay. I guess you're right." She follows him out of the room.

Gear quietly walked until he had Nimbus in sight, and attempted to nod to the pegasus without Shinelly seeing.

((No clue how Shinelly and Nimbus are oriented in relation to me.  :idunno: ))

((We're on the first floor.))

"Hm? You mean that glass dome?  It is rather odd that she would walk around with such a fragile case.  Speaking of Ms. Snow, were you aware of her special reading and if Ms.Glamorous was looking for one?" Nimbus asked.

"Yes, I knew of her special fortune. The mare spat it out as if she were bragging, which I'm pretty sure she did." Shinelly scoffed. "And yes, my sister was looking forward to get a fortune from her."

"You sound as skeptical about it as I am.  Don't believe in that mumbo jumbo?" Nimbus asked as he titled his head.

((We're on the first floor.))

((Oh.  :eyebrowrar: ))

Gear trotted down the stairs to Nimbus and Shinelly. "Hate to interrupt you two, but do you think we should try getting around to wrapping up this investigation? I feel like we have enough evidence," he said, punctuating that sentence with a wink to Nimbus.

"Course not, can you believe somepony telling the future? No. Pure pish posh."

"Well, let's not waste time and catch the culprit then," Shinelly stated with a smirk.

"I suppose we do have a little book worm to haul off." Nimbus dryly retorted, making his to the stairs in front of Shinelly.

'I can only assume by his attitude that Gear and Raven found something.'
