General MLI Discussion / Re: Ace Attorney Trivia Game Show Idea
« on: May 23, 2013, 08:18:42 PM »
So, one thing I wanted to clear up tonight was with how the questions were asked in each round. Here goes.
Round 1
The host has a list of random, simple questions labeled from 1-30. He then asks each contestant to pick a number from 1-30. They answer one question at a time and take turns. The order in which the contestants go in is determined by a simple guessing contest at the very start of the show. The host randomly thinks of a number from 1-100 and the contestant closest to that number chooses to go first, second or third. The second closest contestant chooses from the remaining two options and the farthest contestant is stuck with what is left.
Round 2
It's pretty much been spelled out in the previous post, but like Round 1, each contestant will draw and choose to answer/pass one of the 7 questions at a time. The contestant to start of each round from here on out has been defined.
Round 3
Contestants will submit their predictions to the host via PM BEFORE each question is read. Once they have been collected, the host will read the question to the answering contestant. Like Round 1, the contestants will randomly draw from the pool of questions labeled 1-10 (Yes 10, since I want everyone to have a sense of choice no matter what Round it is. Obviously, only 6 will be asked.)
Round 4
Contestants will be revealed the six topics for the questions in this final round. Again, the contestant with the lowest score will pick their two topics first (to help create balance in the game.) followed by the second lowest and then the highest. Contestants must then submit their two bids towards the two topics they selected. They may bet their entire score twice if they wish since... negative scores are allowed in this game. They will then answer the questions in the same order they selected the topics.
For example: I had the lowest score, Gabu had the highest, and Pyramid had the second highest. The order questions will go in this final round is.
Question 1: Zeus
Question 2: Pyramid
Question 3: Gabu
Question 4: Zeus
Question 5: Pyramid
Question 6: Gabu
On a side note... contestants only have 30 seconds to answer each question with the exception in the final round, where they have a minute since they are supposed to be quite hard.
And the grand total of questions needed for this competition is... 30 + 7 + 10 + 6 = 53
If there are any more remaining issues or unclear rules, let me know.

The Experts never went in order whem dealing with video games or tv shows. All three of us should thus be prepared to answer a question from any of the 5 games. I'll post more detailed rules on the flow of the show tonight since I realize there are some unaddressed points to make.

No MC questions. That would make things too easy. But don't select questions that require more than 2-3 sentences to answer. Be creative with them.
Think of things about the characters, or title of music tracks, key pieces of evidence, etc.
There are plenty of thinks you can ask about in this game show.

Yeah! With that said, we now have a committee to select questions.
Have fun selecting them all. I can't wait to see how you guys will test our knowledge of AA.

Sure thing! We would also appreciate it if you were part of the selection committee. With that, that means we need on more member before questions can be selected!

« on: May 21, 2013, 07:29:47 PM »I'd actually like to compete. I've played every Ace Attorney game available in America so far and think i could be a good opponent for you two.
Well then! Challenged accepted Pyramid Head. I look forward to competing against you.
Ok then! So far, we have our third contestant and volunteer to gather questions. I was thinking a committee of three forumers would be sufficient to select the questions.
Also, once the they have selected all of the questions, they can warn the three contestants about it and give a week to study up on AA material.
How does that all sound?

XBLA will still be available for 360 owners. It's just that you can't play 360 games on the One. I don't think any of the fees will apply to 360 systems.

I hate to be a doomsayer, but after seeing the Xbox One revealed today... Microsoft has COMPLETELY lost their touch with the gaming market. I hate the direction they are going in and the following four confirmed things continue to piss me off.
- Used game "Pay to play fee"
- Required Kinect sensor and must be online at ALL times. Sucks to suck bad internet owners.
- Required to install all game discs into console. Only one installation per disc. More installations will incur a fee.
- No backwards compatibility!
Why... oh why is this all happening...
...go vote in the poll concerning your thoughts on the Xbox One if you want.

Excellent! Also, I encourage everyone here to suggest modifications to the rules if you see fit.
Keep the questions and requests to help out coming everyone!

A new post from the creator has appeared on her Youtube Channel.
Sorry the video is taking so long guys. I'm really trying to put my all into it. I don't know how I should present the winner of the contest as I don't want to actually show it until the everything is said and done with the series itself. As soon as I have a release date, I'll let you guys know ASAP. Thank you all for your continued support!
We are certainly getting closer.

I say all 5 localized AA games are fair game. No questions should be selected from the upcoming Dual Destinies or the currently Japan only games of AAI2 and PLvsAA.

General MLI Discussion / Ace Attorney Trivia Game Show Idea
« on: May 20, 2013, 09:05:25 PM »
Hey everyone!!!
I'm still chilling here in Colombia, but Gabu and I had a great idea that we want to organize. That is, we would like to have a livestreamed trivia game show modeled a after the online game show "The Experts" seen in the video below.
I wanted to see if someone can help select a bunch of questions about the "Ace Attorney" series. The way the trivia show is structured is as follows.
1st Round: 10 easy questions worth 1 point each. Each contestant answers 10 each on their own.
*The contestant with the lowest score is the first to play in the following round*
*Negative scores can be earned in this show.*
*Points will be subtracted from the score in only Rounds 2-4. Round 1 is the easiest and thus should not have a penalty for wrong answers IMO.
2nd Round: 7 random questions worth 1 to 7 points each and ranging in scaled difficult (1 easiest, 7 hardest) Each contestant randomly draws two questions from this set. They can either choose to take the question or pass it to someone else.
3rd Round: The contestants answer two difficult questions each worth 5 points. The contestants not answering questions can predict if the contesting answering the question will get it right or not. Every correct prediction earns them 5 points.
4th Round: Formatted exactly like Final Jeopardy, where the contestants must place a bet after hearing the question's category (any amount of their choosing up to their current score) BUT before answering the question itself. This will be done privately via PM's to the show host. However, there will be TWO questions to answer here instead of the usual one.
So with that said, I was hoping that it would be a competition with Gabu, me, and somebody else brave enough to take on both of us for this livestream. In this case, that means I was wondering if anyone on the forum would be willing to gather up the set of questions for this game show and then host it! If you are willing to select questions, but not host (or vice versa), that's fine to.
It's been forever since a fun livestream was had here, so I wanted to change that with something fun. If this ends up being successful, I'll be glad to help organize more in the future.
So... what do you all think?

So! In case there are other fans eagerly waiting for the game's soundtrack, you can download a set of 8 tracks for free at this link. These are all ripped from the Japanese AA5 demo.
Otherwise, check out this guy's YouTube channel (ChaosAura15) for all of them in high quality.
