Blue Dahlia's Mansion
8:40 PM
Los Pegasus is a city of many names. Entertainment Capital of Equestria, Glimmer Gulch, and Sky Pillar City are only a few of them. Over 3 million ponies call this place home, a large portion of which reside the clouds high above. One would never be at a loss for things to do here, as the city supports a wide range of opportunities for excitement, comfort, and profit.
Hearth’s Warming Eve was just around the corner and the city reflected that. The bright lights of casinos and hotels were joined by strings of smaller bulbs and decorations of candy canes, wreathes of evergreen, and other holiday displays. The only thing missing was snow, and the temperature made sure that never lasted long, so residents had to be content with rain. One particular resident, however, had little reason to be enjoying her holiday.
Ponies of the Los Pegasus Police Department (LPPD) scrambled around the front lawn of a modestly sized mansion in Applewood Hills. Two of them were walking a cranberry-colored earth pony and a blue-greed unicorn, both in hoofcuffs, to a nearby wagon. They struggled, but were eventually shoved inside the back and driven off to the nearest station.
As the suspect’s wagon disappeared, another one stopped at the mansion’s front gates. A cream-colored pony with a grey mane and trench coat slowly stumbled out, followed by a much younger brown mare with a hot pink hairband and cutie mark that resembled a feather quill writing on a sheet of paper.

“Sir-” started the mare before getting cut off.
“’Sir’?” asked the elder. “Not much reason to call me ‘Sir’ when you know my name, Quill.”
“I-I’m just trying to be polite, sir.”
“Enough with the ‘sir’ nonsense, Quill. Call me ‘Danny’ or ‘Charger’. Now, what is it?”
The mare sighed. “I was going to ask what you’re doing here, si- I mean Mr. Charger. You’re supposed to be taking time off...” The old stallion just walked inside without her, leaving her to facehoof.

Investigative Role Play / Turnabout Broken Heart Epilogue: The Trial [Temporary RP Location]

Ponyville Courthouse, Defendant Lobby No. 3
Celestia's sun was shining brightly over Ponyville that morning, it's comforting glow illuminating the whole town. While some would enjoy such a day in the fall weather, there were two ponies who wanted the day to end as soon as possible. Said ponies were currently sitting inside the defendant's lobby with their defense attorney and close friend.
"I'm just not sure, Common..." Forget-me-not's head hung low and her ears drooped. "What if what we have isn't enough?"
"I don't think Flaw's seen a more open-shut case." Deuces was good at putting on strong faces and figured they'd be useful here. "He'll do his thing, G gets his all-expense paid trip to the moon, and we'll be downing Gala Grove Cider at Common's in no time."
((To players not directly involved in this, feel free to step in and take a seat in the stands or something.))

Zaal: Sorry about that, folks. I don't know who'd want to know anything about me, but I figure I can do this for fun.
Feel free to ask whatever you please.

Investigative Role Play / Turnabout Broken Heart

Manehattan; the Big Orange. Its hustle and bustle never leaves those who come there with dull moments. Buildings that occupy as much airspace as your average pegasus or griffon, airships and boats always coming and going, bringing with them all sorts of foreign goods and beings, streets crowded with wagons and carriages, sidewalks jam-packed with ponies, and shaded alleys filled with the unfortunate victims of hunger, poverty, and circumstance. The crisp autumn air weaves its way through everypony’s lungs (along with mild air pollution) as the leaves turn from vibrant green to beautiful shades of red, yellow, and brown.
Along the outskirts of this city was a small rectangular building in a gravel-filled lot. It was a dirty white color, plain on all sides but its front: a small overhang, a double door on the left side, a single door on the right, both covered in a metal mesh. Above the overhang was a sign: Gentlecolt’s Club 50. While the club wasn’t very reputable, it had a fair number of visitors over the years. Some came to see dancing mares, some for cheap food and drink, and some for a game of pool. Tonight, it was the location of a bachelor party.
Location: Gentlecolt’s Club 50, Manehattan
Time: 6:00 PM
Deuces Wylde stood outside, staring up into the sky. It was a long time since he was here last. Change happened to him a lot: the move to Fillydelphia, his father’s remarriage, his departure from home, even his friends seemed to change. Gigawatt achieved his dream of being a professional long-distance flier, Rice Bowl was lead guitarist in ‘Hot-Blooded Harmony’, Cygnet was part of the Griffon Armed Forces, Flying Wheels owned a rollerskating rink, and Forget-me-not… Deuces could still hardly believe what was happening to her.
He pulled out a small card from on outside pocket. It’s exterior was simple: plain white with a red heart and the words ‘Happy Hearts and Hooves Day’. Opening it up, he read the contents to himself: “Never lose that ‘Wylde’ heart. Forget-me-not.” It was a keepsake he always retrieved when he returned home; an irreplaceable treasure.
“Hey, Deuce! What’re you doing out here?”

The voice from behind startled the Wylde Stallion. Hastily returning the card to his pocket, he turns to see a white earth pony with black tribal designs along parts of his coat, a brown scarf, glasses with tinted lenses, and a guitar cutie mark.
“Just waiting for some friends of mine, Rice Bowl.”
“You brought more? They aren’t mobsters or pirates or any of those other guys you run into, are they?”
“Would you be disappointed if I said no?”
“Slightly.” laughed Rice Bowl.

Investigative Role Play / Re: Deuces' Tent [Everfree Forest] (Public; Limit: 3/6)
« on: April 30, 2012, 01:19:09 PM »
Walking out of town with a bag of marshmallows acquired from Sugarcube Corner, Deuces Wylde was down on his luck: not enough money for a hotel room, nopony willing to give him free room and board, and some of his best backroom gambling places were denying him entry for not having enough to bet with. Still, Deuces had back-up plans for situations like this. During his travels, he set up caches of money and other items outside of major cities and towns around Equestria. He couldn't have regular ponies discovering them, so he put them in rather out-of-the-way locations. Stopping on a small hill along the town's outskirts, Deuces dropped the marshmallows and headed toward his nearest cache.
Navigating the series of trees, vines, and other plants, Deuces trekked through the Everfree Forset. 'Things have definitely changed since my last visit... hope no one's discovered it since I was gone... I don't know how they could've, since they lack my backbone. AH, SPIDER! GETITOFFGETITOFFGETITOFF!' Deuces danced and rolled along the ground... and into a wild blackberry bush. Jumping out and groaning in pain, he brushed himself off and continued to make his way deeper into the forest.
Eventually, he found a tree. It was fairly tall and ordinary looking, other than the image of an Ace of Hearts carved above a hole in the trunk. 'Finally...' Deuces thought as he stuck his head inside the hole. Using a light spell, he brought light to the trees darkened inside, revealing it to be slightly hollow. Inside was what appeared to be a black bag. Levitating it out, Deuces began his exit, picking up whatever loose branches and twigs he could find along the way.
Returning to the small hill to find his marshmallows untouched, he put the twigs and branches he gathered aside, opened the bag, and dumped its contents out. Inside it was the makings of a small two-pony dome tent: an inner tent, outer tent, bag of tent stakes, and two collapsible poles. Deuces' camping skills were rusty after several years, but within 25 minutes, the blue tent stood fully assembled. Using the twigs, branches, and a spark of magic, Deuces conjured a small fire to add to the aesthetic. Laying down to relax among the fruits of his labor, he stuck a marshmallow on a leftover twig and began roasting it.
