Spam / LostSanity's thoughts/experiences as he plays... Persona 3 FES
« on: Today at 08:17:11 AM »
So... since the IRP is pretty much dead for good, I need something else to do.
I just recently beat L.A. Noire and Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault.
As you are all aware of by now, or should be aware of by now, I'm a fan of the Persona series. I had the extra money, so, I bought Persona 3 FES and Persona 4 for PS2 a while back. But I've been keeping up with the rest of the Persona series.
I watched Persona 1 PSP and Persona 2: Innocent Sin PSP on YouTube. I'm in the process of watching Persona 2: Eternal Punishment original PS version on YouTube as well. I can't watch the PSP version because Atlus decided to go the route of C(r)apcom and not localize it, making horrible business decisions.
But that's not the point now is it? The point of this thread/thing is simple. I'll be posting here whenever I play Persona 3 FES and saying my thoughts and experiences as I play it.
I actually started playing it last night but couldn't post this thread then because the forum was down!!
So I'm posting it now.
My thoughts so far:
1. ANIME STYLE CUTSCENES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2. It didn't take long for things to go wrong
3. Main character has headphones. Like Neku Sakuraba!! He reminds me of Neku too!! BEST. CHARACTER. EVER.
4. Creepy-ass kid makes me sign a contract. I name my character. What did I name him? What do you think?
MINATO. ARISATO.
Because that's what the Megami Tensei wiki said the main character's name was in the manga version and multiple pictures of the main character of P3 FES come up when you search "Minato Arisato" on Google Images. Besides that's SO MUCH COOLER sounding then "Makoto Yuki"
4. THE MUSIC. I WANT THE SOUNDTRACK ALREADY AND I'VE BARELY STARTED!!
Spoilered to decrease load times.

5. School's cool. I wish my college was like this. It'd be more fun that way.
6. My roommates spy on me while I sleep and invade my privacy.
7. Igor and Elizabeth are creepy as hell.
8. Girl is scared and I have to fight things myself. Good thing I shot myself in my head with a gun to summon my Persona!!
9. I join SEES.
That's all for now. I'll be playing it later today so expect another post later today.
Next time:
What will I be doing next time when I play Persona 3 FES? Well... it happened sooner than I was hoping it would. I'm not going to get along with this dungeon. It's just a feeling of mine. Either way, I won't let it beat me.
What am I talking about? One simple word should be sufficient enough:
TARTARUS.

See you later today!!

Obviously no one cares... but...
I completed Clannad today. Um...
Unless all of the "bad stuff" is supposed to happen in After Story.
We'll see because I'll be watching Clannad After Story next.

Cline decided to answer after the other pony 'returned'
"Isn't it obvious? Yupper gave me it to me to pin the crime on me." answered Cline
((This is actually the first contradiction. Congrats. You didn't actually present the evidence, but, I'm going to accept it.))
For the first time, the filly actually made a good point. A point Cline couldn't argue with. This became known quickly...
*GROWL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*
This loud noise... seem to come from... Cline Bruise?! It sounded like a lion even. Cole seemed to ignore it though, and remained just as serious as ever.
"Well well... looks like you have more explaining to do. Why don't you 'enlighten' us on your actual relationship with Yupper Tunist?" suggested Cole.
Cline began to clench his teeth harder, but then, seemed to calm down. He started to become serious now...

--Relationship with Yupper--
- I’m only going to repeat myself one more time, as I’m tired of doing it
- I only met Yupper recently. I meant what I said, he simply seemed like a pony that was down on his luck, but now, thanks to you, I now know I was wrong
- I had absolutely no idea that he was a thief
- Besides, you’ve proved absolutely nothing. I make a lot of money fighting you know. So, I’ve been using that money to splurge and buy things I’ve always wanted. That should explain the way my financial statement looks. Besides, you seem to have forgotten something else as well…
- There’s nothing that suggests I had anything to do with what happened to Leon’s poor wife
- I’m sure Yupper just did that as well. So, I’d suggest you stop harassing me, as you’ve already got your culprit
- That should clear everything up quite nicely

"Let's address the elephant in the room... What were you being blackmailed with?" Gallopway questioned with an obviously unconvinced look.
"Isn't it obvious? Yupper gave me it to me to pin the crime on me." answered Cline
"If you thought he was just a random fan, why were his bank... papers in your locker?"
((This is actually the first contradiction. Congrats. You didn't actually present the evidence, but, I'm going to accept it.))

The door to the training gym opened again and this time, the Puzzler came back through, fully showered and free of any stench. His coat, bow tie, and hat were gone, although he still carried his suitcase with him.
"I have returned, good investigators of Ponyville!" he announced loudly before walking over to where Gallopway, Winter Breeze, and Cole were confronting a pony the Puzzler hadn't seen before.
"So... What did I miss?"

((That's not really what I was looking for, but, once again, that's close enough))
Before Yupper could respond, Lane decided to speak up.
"That's not all either. I'm not sure what it is you're hiding Mr. Bruise, but..." began Lane
Present: Lead Pipe
"These two found this in your locker. Clean it as much as you want to, it doesn't matter. Remnants of what you were obviously trying to hide is still there. There's traces of blood on it near the top of the pipe itself. The blood... belongs to one Sym Phonette!!" declared Lane.
Evidence Updated - Lead Pipe:
A small, metal, gray lead pipe. Found in Cline’s locker in a secret compartment. Testing reveals quite an amount of blood near the top of the small lead pipe. Somepony tried cleaning it rigorously to get rid of the blood, and any other evidence on it. Blood testing reveals that it is the blood of Sym Phonette. It is the weapon that was used to not only attack and assault her, but, it is also the weapon that put her into a coma.
Cline then became very serious, but then, seemed to be surprised. But was he really? Or was it just an act?
"WHAT?! But... that... was a gift!! From Yupper!!" informed Cline as a slight evil smirk appeared on his face were one to look close enough at him...
Cole approached Yupper.
"Yupper Tunist, you are under arrest for burglary, and the attempted murder of Sym Phonette. Do you have anything to say for yourself?" asked Cole
Yupper seemed quite agitated and he was clenching his teeth together, but, said nothing.
"Take him to the Ponyville Detention Center Lane" ordered Cole. Lane simply saluted and did as he was told.
This left the group with Cline Bruise.
"I want answers. Now." stated Cole as it was his turn to turn the glare towards Cline.

- Wow! You have no idea how thankful I am to all of you. From the bottom of my heart… I thank you
- I had no idea he was a thief and a criminal. I had just thought he was another random fan of mine
- I’ll admit that I did get to know him a little, and, according to him anyway, he was down on his luck
- I was helping the guy out you see, giving him some money because I felt sorry for him
- I was being blackmailed!! It’s quite a shock to me believe it or not
- That’s all I was doing for him, however, nothing else
- Hopefully that clears everything up?

« on: May 14, 2013, 04:52:43 PM »Are you sure? Wasn't there one episode that consisted of around seven songs and that ended with a character completely out of nowhere changing her race and becoming involved in a very badly defined hierarchy?
Yes. I'm sure.

I was more agreeing on PH's last statement about the stupid decision.
Either way, despite the horrible business decisions, I'm forced to take what I can get.
Which I shall do.
Since I don't have a choice in the matter anyway.

Nah.
It's the stupidest idea I've ever seen in my entire life.
So I'll just ignore it, not watch it, and pretend it doesn't exist.

Crapcom's experimenting with anti-piracy measures and has a narc on for the used game market. While it is true that a good deal of the Ace Attorney gamers buy the games used, Crapcom has no one but themselves to blame for that since they don't distribute enough items or advertise enough to begin with. But at the same time, this could work to your advantage. Most game retailers sell pre-paid cards for digital services you can buy with cash, and since it is digital you won't have to worry about being unable to track down a copy which was always the biggest pain in the ass about the Ace Attorney series next to the Fey family. This stupid decision will hurt Crapcom but you can easily work it to your advantage.
That makes me feel a little better.
Thanks.

Nintendo sells prepaid 3DS eShop cards. You can buy them from over a dozen brick-and-mortar game retailers. You don't need a credit card.
My opinion about Capcom continuing to make HORRIBLE BUSINESS DECISIONS remains the same.
Again sorry.

"Another bank statement... You've been storing quite a stack of bits lately. Any good reason?" Gallopway asked as he looked over the other piece. "Pawn shops, huh? You don't look like a pony that would have much of value. What reason would you have for going there?" He asked again, swatting at Yupper's head.
Looking at Winter now that the hustle and bustle was over, he handed her the papers once he got all he wanted from them.
Yupper didn't say anything.
Quote from: 4wheel
"Cole... go back to your desk. At least the Rook kept the crook from getting away." Gallopway replied before facing Yupper and staring him down with a no-nonsense glare.
"Don't feed me none of that horse-hockey, son! I've seen enough creeps to spot a petty thief when I see one!" Gallopway spoke. "Now, do yourself a favor and tell us what we want to know before you're charged as an accomplice!"
Cole looked away and seemed to be a little embarrassed.
"I... um... got distracted. Besides... I didn't expect him to run. Either way... thanks for apprehending him Lane. You did a good job." complimented Cole. This made Lane blush, embarrassed.
"Thanks, sir..." remarked Lane.
"You kant prove anything" remarked Yupper

General Discussion / Re: Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies (Formerly AA5) Speculation
« on: May 14, 2013, 03:23:39 PM »There is just one catch to this.
AA5 will be released entirely through the eshop. An all digital release. I personally am absolutely fine with this. I have enough games through steam and PSN that I'm not about to bitch about not having a physical copy of the game, but what effect do you think this could have on potential sales. I've been around the cyber-tubes long enough to know that gamers love to bitch if they don't get exactly what they want. Keeping in mind that the success of a digitally released AA game could give capcom more incentive to localize and digitally release AAI2, do you think this game is more or less likely to be financially successful?
Keep in mind this is only a possibility. Nobody can say for sure if it will happen, but Sven has repeatedly said that he'd proposed digital release as a means of finally localicing AAI2. I'd like to believe that the game will still sell fine. Once people have had time to cool down from the initial disappointment of not having a physical copy, people will be comfortable with buying the final product.
...
Good. Just what I expected. Capcom making more HORRIBLE BUSINESS DECISIONS.
What is their problem with this series? Seriously?
You know... they've BEATEN A DEAD HORSE with their other series. Yet this series gets treated like this? REALLY?! NO PHYSICAL COPY?!
Yeah... that's BS. Sorry.
Fine. They'll regret it in the end.
How am I supposed to get this game? I don't know how to buy games off of the eShop. I don't have a credit card and my mom won't let me have one and it takes me quite a persuasive argument to get my mother to allow me to use hers. Did I mention her credit is bad because we're struggling financially? Because it does.
I guess I won't be getting this since it's digital only.
you Capcom. Go die in a fire. Seriously.

So...
They want people to covet money even more? Even when people covet money WAY to much already?
Oh yeah... that's a great idea.
I may not be religious... but... did you know that Greed is a deadly sin? Just pointing out a simple observation.
Why are most companies OBSESSED with money and making more of it?
Don't they have enough fun swimming in the money they have in their tubs already?
I guess not.
Their greed will destroy them. Just wait and see.
