Equestrian Dreamers: The Classified Files Part 4

Today, we spotlight a dedicated and wonderful vector artist of the team, TehJadeh! Before she departs from the team for now, I want to say how much of a pleasure she was to work with for the past 2 years. Gabu, I, and the rest of the team will not forget her contributions to this project, and thus, we’ll be creating a new section in the “The Team” tab honoring all former team members. More names of members leaving the team will be posted as the days go by, so stayed tuned to that.

And without further ado, take it away, TehJadeh!

Hello, MLI followers. Apparently it’s my turn to write one of these…things. So I’ll do my best to make it informative and/or interesting. Let’s begin!

Origins by TehJadeh

I bet none of you know what I actually do for this game, or who I actually am, since I don’t frequent the forums anymore. So I’ll just introduce myself right now! I’m TehJadeh, or Jade, and I’ve worked on projects such as, Double Rainboom as a character and special effects animator, I work as an animator, character designer and asset creator for Silly Filly Studios, and I animated “I Am Octavia”. For My Little Investigations, my role is a dialogue character vector artist.

When I first joined the Equestrian Dreamers team, I was hired on as a voice actress—not an artist.

I think I was reading the Nightly Roundup one day on Equestria Daily when I came across the call for voice actors. I’m a huge fan of the Ace Attorney series, and of course, My Little Pony, so I decided to give it a shot. I’m not a voice actress. To be honest, I didn’t think I’d get a part at all. I don’t sound anything close to the role I got. But then I got an email from Gabu saying that I got the voice acting role of Scootaloo.

It was a cool experience. But I noticed something while I was watching the development crew talk about the art style of the game itself. We needed vector art, and I was a vector artist. So I volunteered myself to help vector HallowGazer’s fantastic drawings for the game.

It was fun while it lasted. Days went by; I was getting busier and busier by the day, being in my senior year of high school. I just couldn’t find the time or proper environment to record anymore. So I sent the bad news to Gabu, and the wonderfully talented DivinexRose took over my role as Scootaloo.

I continued with the vector art for as long as I could, but life has a way of eating up your time, and giving you priorities. I had to take a leave from MLI to work on my art portfolio so I could get into animation school. I had already been rejected once, and I couldn’t risk it happening again. Around this time, thankfully, Abion47 joined our team as another vector artist. I really got thank him for picking things up while I was away. And later on, my good friend ArtsyFeathers joined the team as yet another vector artist.

Uhh…where was I going with this again?

Ponies are awesome. And I did get into the animation college that I wanted. The school year has just started and things are starting to get busy for me again. That said, this is farewell. As much as I’d love to stay, I have to go. Members of the team may have noticed that I haven’t had time to submit any work for the game, let alone chat casually on Skype. So I’m going to do what’s best right now and resign. I’m off to pursue my animation career. It’s been a pleasure getting to know and work with everyone. And I hope to stay connected with members of the team in the future. Will I be back? Who knows. I’d love to work with these guys again. Now’s not the time though. It’s time for me to focus on animation. You all know where to find me if you need me. 😀

Farewell~

  1. You’re right! I never heard about you. Animators are always behind the scenes kind of workers 🙂
I watched both Double Rainboom and I am Octavia, and I must say, the animations are top notch!

Best of luck with your future!

  2. Even though I am sure the team will be sad to see you go TehJadeh, I do believe you made the right decision to leave before things got out of hand. You are right to focus your attention on your schooling, but I am certain that the experiences you had working on this project can only help you in the long run. Best of luck on your future endeavors!

P.S. I think you did an awesome job on the character dialogue vectoring! I believe it really made the characters feel more alive with the appearance of them speaking their lines.
