A glimpse at progress!

Hi all! GabuEx here.

We’ve all been hard at work behind the scenes on the first case, and we can’t thank you enough for being patient with us while you wait. A game like My Little Investigations is always a bit tricky to give public exposure, since we can’t show you anything that would give people an inkling regarding the way in which the story goes – but by this time, I think it’s safe to say that we owe you at least a little something to whet your appetites and reassure any of you out there who might be worried that we most certainly are still going strong. So, I’d like to take a little bit to highlight just a few of the things that our wonderful team has been up to. You can find that after the break!

First up, here’s some dialog character sprites from HallowGazer and TehJadeh:

Second, here’s some field character sprites from WarpOut – yes, fans, your prayers have been answered: Twilight can now run in the game!

Third, here’s another background from PonyArtist, showing the inside of town hall:

Fourth, here’s another cutscene background from Rautakoura:

And fifth, here’s another song from Trot Pilgrim, which plays when Twilight has found a crack in her opponent’s argument:

That’s all for now, but only because we don’t want to show you guys the whole case before it’s done – we want you guys to be surprised and delighted, after all! Rest assured that we’ve got plenty more where this came from, which we’ll look forward to showing you in the future. Thanks to all our fans for being totally awesome. We love you all!

GabuEx out.

  1. Rock on Trot! Way to get inspired by the most awesome ”objection” theme of them all, Phoenix`s first and not Edgeworth`s. Its about time some Phoenix influence was mixed into the game, Edgeworth and his investigations were already hoging all the gameplay of the game.

Its a pretty neat looking background PonyArtist, I love it! But it begs the question now…Will Twilight be able to enter through doors too? Knowing she can move about different screens.

Warpout made an exeptionaly good work yet again on the sprites. Personally I wouldnt find any use to run in an investigation game unless there was a chase involved, sort of like a mini game where you have to catch the bad guys making a run for it after you proved their the culprit?

I dont have anything to say on the dialogue sprites cause they look as perfect as the previous ones. I already exhausted my comments on them before. Fantastic HallowGazer, you too TehJadeh.

Routakoura`s cutscenes are always an added bonus.

  2. love that theme! I greatly enjoyed the small demo you guys released way back, but I hadn’t heard anything about it since… its nice to see that the silence has been due to anti-spoiler policy, instead of you guys giving up. I look forward to the final product!

  3. Wow! Trot Pilgrim, you sure have a talent ! 😀 Such a wonderful song ! Seriously I love it xD The backgrounds are awesome too 😛 Twilight, able to run? Woot! But since the maps were kinda small, I hope the new maps will be made larger ^_^
About the sprites, it seems that Rarity is going to be upset (obviously). Keep up the good work ! :DD

  4. I haven’t commented on this, but I’ve been watching this for a good while. I have to say
    1. I love the music. I could comment more on this, but I’ll just be screwing up my description with many words of fluff. I loved the original soundtrack of Phoenix Wright, and combining these in such a way just makes me grin.
    2. The sprite style is fitting of the original show. If I didn’t know better, I would have said you DID rip them from the show. High quality, and quite expressive.
    3. This, along with Fighting is Magic, are two games I’m looking forward to. This is looking to be a very, very good game.

  5. Oh man this is so amazing! The artwork is great, and I LOVE the music! Reminds me so much of Phoenix 😀 Keep up the awesome work guys!

  6. I’m a big gamer. Its part of my life and job. But these days I don’t get as excited as I used to over many games. But this project looks, sounds and from the demo plays amazingly and I really cannot wait to try the full project. There is genuine heart and passion involved in this and that’s perhaps the best feature yet!

  7. Let me just say I am really excited for this game and can’t wait for case 1 to be finished! The demo reminds me so much of Phoenix Wright.

  8. That music works very well. I hope the other music tracks are going to follow this good example. Can’t wait to hear them in-game.
