Recruitment update and YouTube channel

Hello, all!

Couple of things to cover today. First up is an update on the recruitment for My Little Investigations. We’ve gotten a great turnout so far, so thanks so much to everyone who’s already sent in an application! That said, however, one area in particular that could really use more applications is the area of visual art – we’ve only got one application thus far for each of the dialog character artist, field character artist, and background & prop artist positions, and no applications for the cutscene artist position. I know that there’s a ton of artistic talent out there, having waded through countless amazing works of art in Equestria Daily’s Drawfriends, so I’d just like to make sure people understand that animation experience is not a requirement for any of the positions. If you have any artistic talent, I’d heartily encourage you to apply – you have nothing to lose at all! The more applications we get, the better a team we can put together, so don’t be shy!

We also definitely could use some more female voice actor applications, as well – we’ve got a number of great applications for the female roles already, but as above, the final result will be that much better the more people there are who apply.

And if you have any friends whom you know might be interested, definitely let them know, too!

Second, Equestrian Dreamers now has its own YouTube channel! You can find that right here. New videos regarding My Little Investigations will all get posted there, so if you want My Little Investigation updates without having to see my personal pony videos that are posted to my personal YouTube channel, this is for you! (I’ll still post new My Little Investigations videos to my YouTube channel as well, though, for those who are fine with the status quo.)

That’s all for now!

  1. MAN WHY CAN’T A DRAW WORTH HALF A SHIT!
I would apply no questions asked if i wasn’t the worst drawer i know…
i can’t do any of those why do i have to be good at playing games but not making them!

  2. I’d like to help but I can’t do anything for which we can apply. I’m not an artist never been and everytime I try the voice acting I sound like gollum from lord of the rings having an epileptic seizure. If there was any way I could help I’d do so but sadly that is not the case.

  3. I’m afraid that I, also, must be included among those with no artistic talent. If you want a grant, or technical manual written, then I can do it. Art, not so much…

  4. About Artistic support:
Why don’t you write up requests on artist-sites, like “deviant art”?
At these sites there are already many good artists with talent and/or cunning and training.
I think, to get some people for the artistic part of “My little Investigations” from there might be easy.

I got the idea while watching “Phoenix Wright / My Little Pony FIM – Turnabout Storm” on YouTube.
In “PWaaMLPfim”‘s description he mentioned some artists, who had drawn the pictures for him.
Maybe to contact him would be a good idea, as he seems to already know some good artists.

    • Is there a place on deviantART to issue a request like that? I didn’t think there was any central hub there where everyone would see it like there is with, say, Equestria Daily. Or did you mean write up requests to individual artists?

      • Actually I thought there should be a central hub to put up request for pictures.
I’m not sure as I have never used it thought. However I doubt that people, who request pictures, always give this request to a specific artist. I’d thought that there is a sort of central “blackboard” where requests are “pinned up”.
Again I don’t know. (I mainly said to DeviantArt because it is the best site I know for hobby artists and their pictures.)
“PWaaMLPfim” from YouTube has some artists in the description of his FanFic “Phoenix Wright / My Little Pony FIM – Turnabout Storm” (I’m sure you know it, as it is in your favorites on your YouTube channel). Why don’t you contact him. I think he probably knows more than I do.

  5. which female characters are currently most lacking in the potential voice actor department? i would like to audition, but i dont want to make things more difficult by going for a ‘popular’ role.

  6. I have studied my idea about recruiting artists from deviantart a bit closer. Here is my result:
As far as I know by now, deviantart has no “central blackboard” where requests are put up. But the artists communicate individually with each other and exchange their requests.
That means, someone would have to go looking for the artists and then ask them to join this team.
I think this might be a bit too much to do.
So maybe this wasn’t a that good idea.

    Apart from that:
Lately I have been communicating with “PWaaMLPfim” from YouTube. He’s the guy how makes the “Phoenix Wright / My Little Pony FIM – Turnabout Storm” story.
I asked him if he could help you out with the missing voice actors and the missing artists.
He agreed to ask his friends, next time he contacts them, to have a look at the recruitment page here and consider lending their abilities to create the game. “PWaaMLPfim” said he’ll especially ask the guy who makes the cut-scene for him, to apply for the same task here.

“PWaaMLPfim” also told me the secret of getting his voice actors. “To tell you though,” he said, “most of the voices I got for the project I actually scouted out, simply by putting “*character name* audition” in the YouTube search bar.”
If there are still not enough requests for voice-actors this might be a way to get them.

  7. Deviantart has a projects section in their forum that you might want to use to look for artists, but if I was you I’d just get in touch with this group http://mlp-fim.deviantart.com/ they have heaps of artist members, I bet if they did a shout out for you, you’d find plenty of artists. If you don’t have/want a DA account I can message them for you, just tell me what to write.

      • Oh man I hope I was good enough for the character I auditioned for. If I think I can do other voices should I send in another audition? Also how do I find out if yall received my first audition?
        -Mike C

        • Due to the number of applicants, we aren’t sending a response to everyone who applies unless one is requested, but I can confirm that we did indeed receive your audition.

  8. Happy Holidays everypony! Thanks for all of the submissions so far!!! 😀

There’s exactly one week left before recruitment ends so if you have not applied, you better do so now. Have a great holiday season until then!
