Welcome!

Welcome, one and all, to the grand opening of the new website for My Little Investigations, and for the newly christened development group for the game, Equestrian Dreamers! The game was starting to outgrow its developer blog, so we figured that giving it its own website was the obvious next step.

We don’t just have a website and a new name, though – we’re also finally recruiting people who want to work on the project! It’s always better to show rather than tell, though, so head on over to the recruitment section of our website for more information, if you’re interested. We’re looking for visual artists, composers, and voice actors at the moment. If any of that sounds up your alley, have a look! The current recruitment call will accept applications until the end of December, at which point final decisions will be made.

We’ll have plenty more information on MLI to come in the weeks ahead, so we hope you’re as excited as we are for the future of the project!

  1. A BIG congratulations to Gabu for finally getting this website up and running! I also like to officially welcome everypony to equestriandreamers.com! I hope some of you find the same passion we had when we started this project and apply for a position. I just can’t WAIT to see what talented bronies we have to look over the next month. πŸ˜€

  2. Am really looking forward to this game. So much love and care is going into it and I hope that remains true for the rest of the work done. Good luck!

  3. bookmarked well it nice to see you switch to the same system manestream games has so this is nice i hope you get a bunch of good voice actors and composers this game is going to be awesome.

  4. Congratulations, a new website! Bookmarked this one and deleted the blog. I hope you’ll get a great crew together, especially artists. By the way, will the released game have an option to turn voice acting off? No, I don’t mean I expect it to be bad, I’m just curious πŸ˜›

    • There may be one, and it wouldn’t be too hard to do, although I haven’t thought about it that much. Most games have three volume controls, those being for BGM, SFX, and voice, so that’s a fairly standard feature.

      • Good to know, thanks for answering. Actually, now I realize I should have asked a different question altogether. Are you going to have all dialogue voice-acted? I assumed you are and based the previous question on that, but now I realize I should have confirmed this first.

        • No. In the new video (which doesn’t seem to have been posted here), he mentioned that it would be like the Professor Layton games. Cutscenes and important dialogue will be voiced, and the rest will be text.

          • Ah, that’s good! Then there’s no need for a “no voice acting” button. Now that I think about it, this makes so much more sense. ^^

          • Also, I hadn’t seen that video yet, as for some reason I hadn’t subscribed to GabuEx’s youtube channel… And now i feel silly for asking that. Oopsie…

  5. Ever since I found out about “my little Investigations” I waited for a moment like this.
It’s great that it has its own website now.

I’ve gone through the recruitment list, but sadly I have not jet found anything where I can help.
I was just wondering: Is there also going to be a forum where none-requited fans can add their ideas and fantasies?

Because, even if I can’t find a place for me in the “Equestrian Dreamers” Team, I want to help creating and completing “my little Investigations” as much as I can.

    PS.
What about the voice actors for the MlP-characters, who don’t appear in the first cases? Will you trial them out the same way as the current ones? Can you already apply for one of them?

    • We’ve discussed the possibility of putting up a forum, but thus far we’ve decided to wait until the first case is done before putting up a forum, so that way people will have something substantial to discuss there.

As far as voice actors for characters who don’t appear in the first cases, those will be recruited when necessary. We don’t really want to recruit those yet, simply because those people will have nothing to do until that case arrives, which isn’t something we really want to have happen.

  6. I just wanted to say it’s awesome you are doing this. I love the Ace Attorney games and seeing one with MLP is quite awesome :). One quick question I have is will it be compatable with Mac? It’s the only computers we have in the house, so I was curious if it would be compatable.

Thanks and keep up the good work πŸ™‚

    • Currently the game is coded in XNA, which doesn’t play well with Macs. However, we have been exploring options recently for getting the game working on non-Windows machines.

  7. Congrats on getting to the open recruitment stage and on the new website! Like many others, I wish I was skilled in an area that would help you out. For now, I’ll have to stick to the position of “quiet supporter.” Thanks to all who are working or will work on this, for your dedication!

    • I wouldn’t say that we currently have *plans*, but we have had people approach us in the past who were interested in translating it into both French and Italian, so I would say that it is definitely a possibility.

      • As being bilingual, I just thought: Maybe others, who can’t understand English that well, would like to play “My little Investigations” too.

I understand that you are still only considering the possibility. However, if you decide to launch the game in other languages too, I could translate it into german (my second language) for german fans.
(I can speak and understand French as well, but I’m no master in this language. So I don’t think I’d qualify to translate the game into French. Sorry)

Just notify me if you decide to do so. I’d be glad to help.

  8. It’s absolutely fantastic to see you’ve created an official site! Even more exciting, though, is the fact that you’re accepting artists of both the visual and audible variety, as well as voice acting! Though most of my voice work is live and not over the web, I hope to see how my application works out (oops, favoritism! πŸ˜‰ No worries, I’ll play the game whether or not I’m picked, I’m an absolute total fan of the AA series, to the point that I’ve forced myself to watch subbed versions of AAI2)

Best of luck to all of you right now, and I really look forward to this game’s release, or even just a demo video! Dang, I think I need to start looking over the videos again, just because this is so incredibly cool! πŸ˜‰

  9. I have to say that I’m really looking forward to this. MLP:FiM and Ace Attorney combined? You’d have my money on release day if you were looking for any.

Good luck to all that are submitting art or auditions!
